at ASU
The clinical phase of the All Saints University MD program consists of 72 weeks of supervised rotations across a broad range of medical specialties. Students are placed at affiliated and approved teaching hospitals both in St. Vincent and the United States, working directly under the supervision of qualified physicians, consultants, and registrars.
All clinical placements are structured to prepare students for USMLE Step 2 CK and CS examinations and to build the real-world diagnostic, communication, and patient care skills required for residency in North America.
How Clinical Rotations Work
Students must successfully pass all 5 semesters of Basic Medical Sciences on campus in St. Vincent and pass the NBME Comprehensive Basic Science Examination (CBSE) before entering clinical rotations.
Students are assigned to affiliated teaching hospitals across the United States and St. Vincent. Placements cover all required specialty rotations as outlined by the program curriculum.
Each rotation is supervised by a qualified preceptor — a consultant, registrar, or district medical officer — who assesses student competency and clinical performance throughout the placement.
Upon completing clinical rotations, students sit the NBME Comprehensive Clinical Science Examination (CCSE). Passing this exam is required before graduation and degree conferral.
Graduates are eligible to apply for residency programs in the USA, Canada, and internationally. ASU's clinical training and USMLE preparation directly support competitive residency applications.
